My friend and I recently completed a engagement party. Most of the donations in cash or by check. All the sites I've seen have said that using notes on how the money. How should I word this?

Our wedding took place in May 2010. So I said to myself:

Thank you for your generous donation commitment. It will be very helpful to us during our busy year in sight .... (or "will be very useful for us in planning for the big day." or something .......)

Thoughts? Other ideas?
